Got stuck in a huge traffic jam on 64...Got off on the first exit and stumbled across this place. What an amazing find! This place has some of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. To think I would have never have discovered this place if it wasn't for traffic. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through...don't miss out on this hidden gem!

I like HRB.
I've gotten carryout at least six times and dined in at least once.
Most recently, about 2 months ago, I got my usual order, a large BBQ sandwich + Onion Rings + Hush Puppies.
Rushed home and savored every bite, although the BBQ sandwich usually lasts me two meals.
It may be seasonal, but at least in the summertime they have fresh squeezed limeade. Very good. It almost makes summer worth looking forward to.
And once I bought one pound of Bulk BBQ, $11.00. It was necessary for me to buy coleslaw at the nearby Martins supermarket. -

Came here because tickets flying into Richmond were cheaper than ORF. Walked here from the airport. LET ME TELL YOU.. the BBQ is to die for. I had the pulled port platter. For a little over 10 bucks you get more than a generous helping of meat, two sides, and corn bread. Definitely a good deal economically speaking, but one you taste it, god help you. 5 stars. The pork was fall apart slow roasted and the shop is owned by a local couple who are very personable and friendly. Been a local treasure for over 14 years from what I hear. I would definitely suggest and will definitely return if I ever come in through Richmond again!
5 stars because:
The facilities were top notch clean
The spot is locally owned and run
The service was super fast and friendly
A lot of food for cheap
The food was 5 stars. Excellent. -

What a great spot to find lunch after picking up family at the airport! All four of us had a different thing and all was excellent. Lotsa different barbecue sauces to try too. We liked Hillbilly Red and Aunt Lucy's best. Yum!! Plus kind and attentive service! (And I grew up in Texas!)

So I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the beef brisket dinner with two sides and hush puppies. I ordered baked beans and Mac and cheese as my side along with a side of potato salad. I thought the price was a little high until I got home and opened the box. The portion size was more than enough for lunch and dinner. The brisket had good flavor and was just moist enough. The beans were so yummy I almost forgot about the other sides. The Mac and cheese wasn't baked as I'm used to but it was still good. The potato salad was tasty as well but the real stars were the brisket and beans. By the time I got to the hush puppies they were cold but still very tasty. Considering that this place isn't far from my house I will likely return. Also the lady at the register is very friendly
